I am interested in stochastic modelling and Bayesian parametric statistics with special focus on point processes, state-space models, Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, sequential Monte Carlo methods, statistical applications in Geophysics, seismic hazard assessment through data from historical catalogues.
I received my degree in Mathematics in 2000 from the University of Parma (I) and my PhD degree in Statistics in 2005 from the University Bocconi of Milan (I).
I have been a researcher at CNR-IMATI since 2011 and I had a temporary position in the same institute during the period from 2000 to 2010 thanks to some scholarships and research grants. I was assistant lecturer of Statistics at the Faculty of Economics of the Universities LIUC of Castellanza and Bocconi of Milan from 2003 to 2008.
I was a visiting student/researcher at Department of Mathematics of Bristol (UK) in 2004, at Victoria University of Wellington (NZ) in 2006, and at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics of Tokyo (JP) in 2008, 2014, and 2018.
I contributed to the following projects:
