Project Summary

The purpose of this consultancy research project is to study, design and develop a customized software library for mesh repairing applications. IMATI-CNR designs and develops a library named "ImatiSTL" that incorporates functions to repair raw digitized meshes represented by STL files. From 2014 ImatiSTL is extended both to handle the new ISO standard AMF file format and to include new functions to repair CAD-generated models. Based on ImatiSTL, SAI develops interactive mesh repairing tools to be used to turn raw models into 3D-printable meshes.
