  • Fabrizio Ruggeri (B.Sc. Mathematics University of Milano, M.Sc. Statistics Carnegie Mellon University, Ph.D. Statistics Duke University) is Research Director at the Italian National Research Council in Milano.

His interests are mostly in Bayesian and industrial statistics, especially in robustness, decision analysis, reliability, stochastic processes; recently, he got involved in biostatistics and biology as well.

Dr. Ruggeri is Adjunct Faculty at Queensland University of Technology (Australia),  Faculty in the Ph.D. programme in Mathematics and Statistics at University of Pavia, Foreign Faculty in the Ph.D. programme in Statistics at the University of Valparaiso (Chile), Member of the Advisory Board of the Ph.D. programme in Mathematical Engineering at Polytechnic of Milano.

ASA (American Statistical Association) and ISBA (International Society for Bayesian Analysis) Fellow and ISI Elected Member, Dr. Ruggeri is former ISBA and ENBIS (European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics) President and current ISI (International Statistical Institute) and ISBIS (International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics) Council Member and Chair Elect of the Industrial Section of ISBA.

He is one of the first two recipients of the Zellner Medal, the most prestigious award by ISBA.

He is also Editor-in-Chief of Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry (the official ISBIS journal), Encyclopedia of Statistics in Quality and Reliability and Wiley StatsRef Online, besides being the Chair of the Bayesian Inference in Stochastic Processes workshops and Co-Director of the Applied Bayesian Statistics summer schools.

He is also coauthor of a book on Bayesian analysis of stochastic processes and co-editor of three books on Bayesian robustness and Statistics in healthcare.
